Welcome to the Friends of Fisher’s Field web site.
WELCOME to Hertsmere’s best kept secret, Fisher’s Field Nature reserve, located at the end of Fishers Close, off Bendysh Road WD23 2GY and can also be found via footpaths from Greatham Road and Park Close.
Fishers Field is a site designated as a habitat. A wildlife area for the enjoyment of peace and tranquillity by local residents and for the cultivation of a nature reserve.
The prime purpose is the support and development of wildlife. There are footpaths for walks and seating for resting.
The Friends of Fisher’s Field are a group of local residents and volunteers in partnership with Hertsmere Council who carry out working sessions to plant trees, wild flowers clear litter and general maintenance.
The Friends of Fisher’s Field are proud that for several years the reserve has been annually awarded the prestigious Green Flag. A national award that recognises high quality green spaces in the United Kingdom managed by community and voluntary groups.
The Friends are very grateful to all those who have given up spare time to lend a hand.
Recently the Council have added a park with swings and a slide for children, doubling the whole area to 4 hectares.
I hope if you have not already visited Fishers Field you will do so. Excellent for dog walking.
If you would like to join us we meet regularly so as to make sure that our visitors enjoy their outing.
