Fishers Field is a site designated as a habitat for local flora and flora, covering an area of two hectares. Although its prime purpose is the support and development of wild life, it has public access, with footpaths and seats. The site may be accessed through a wooden kissing gate from Fishers Close off Bendysh Road. Public right of way to the site is via: Footpath 61 which runs north from Fishers Close to join footpath 2. Footpath 2 which runs west from Greatham Road to Bushey Mill Lane. Footpath 66 which runs west from Park Close to join Footpath 2. Disabled access is via a compacted crushed concrete path . This runs from the main entrance at Fishers Close through the Reserve, linking Footpaths 61 and 2, leading to footpath 66. (The path was installed over ten years ago and has a firm surface. This is uneven however due to wear and tear and partial covering by grass). There is a tarmac path with a drop kerb leading from Fishers Close to the kissing gate (the gate conforms to BS5709). There are steps from Greatham Road onto footpath 2 which is grassed until it reaches the Reserve. The site includes: A meadow A hazel coppice Pockets of woodland A pond Two beehives were installed in the spring of 2013 There is an on going programme of planting new trees and hedgerows.
